Puppy Cam

November 23, 2008 at 8:01 am (Fun Stuff) (, )

If you are one of the remaining few people who haven’t seen the Puppy Cam, you must watch it.  A breeder has a 24/7 webcam of their 6 Shiba Inu puppies.  It is way cute, and sure to make you smile.  Sadly the pups will be off to there new homes in a week, so enjoy it while you can (and be sure to go back and watch some of the older clips).

(edited – I can’t get the embedding to work, I’ll try to fix it in the morning, for now just click the link)

1200 dollars later I have registered for classes next semester, and my books have been ordered.

My final schedule is as follows:

  • Substantive Criminal Law (campus)
  • The Police Function (online)
  • The Correction Function (online)
  • Fire Science Intro (online)
  • Chamber Choir (campus)
  • Principles of Supervision (online)
  • Domestic Violence – WAITLIST (online)

Now how does that happen?  I registered two hours after registration opened (it would have been earlier, but I slept in this morning…), and the DV class was already full – I’m third on the waiting list.  And its not like its a small class; there are 22 seats.  Bummer.

Ice Skating

November 17, 2008 at 8:46 am (Fall 2008, Life) (, , )

I love ice skating. It’s some combination of being able to go fast with little effort, the cold air, the sound of the blades cutting across the ice, and everything that makes ice skating so wonderful. Ice skating makes your problems go away, you can just skate – free of the day to day limitations.

I wish I could get on the ice more often, because it really is one of my favorite things to do. But because they have to work around three hockey leagues (kids, adults, and pro) the only open slate when I’m not in school is Sunday evenings. Oh well, I guess I can deal with that. Though here is a marketing tip: the rink should sell season passes or something rather than having to pay $4 every time…

Buy This CD

November 14, 2008 at 9:26 pm (Fall 2008, Fun Stuff) (, , , )

If you’ve spent much time on you tube, its likely you’ve heard of Indiana University’s Straight No Chaser, a mens acapella choir.  Well this year for their tenth anniversary, they made a reunion Christmas CD.  Its really good, and well worth the few dollars it costs.

So yeah…. you should go get a copy of Straight No Chaser’s Holiday Spirits.

A break from studying

November 7, 2008 at 12:18 am (Fun Stuff) (, )

I don’t know what students did before youtube.  It is the best way to get away from homework for a short break…  So anyway, this is my find for today.  Enjoy!

Choir Auditions

November 6, 2008 at 11:45 pm (Fall 2008, School) (, , )

Today in choir we were auditioning for 8 slots to sing the National Anthem for the president of the college and some other people next week.  Well, out of the 12 altos, I was one of two picked.  This was very exciting – mostly cause some of the people who weren’t selected are in more advanceed choirs than I and have more experience in choir.

So anyway, on Tuesday, we are driving across the county (about an hour), singing the National Anthem, and driving back…  It ok though, cause it is a nice arrangement.

Weather Bets

November 6, 2008 at 10:17 pm (Fun Stuff, Life) (, , , )

Ok, so when is north-central Arizona going to get the first snow of the winter?

Just so you know, today has a high of 52 and a low of 30 with a 0% chance of precipitation.

The official average first day of measurable snow is December 9.

So what will it be this year?
