Another point for fall!
Last night and today, it “rained” in Phoenix!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (I mean it hardly counts as rain, but it was certainly an improvement to the super high temps!!!
One of those days…
Today is one of those days where everything starts off great. Then gets steadily worse. And, its not even 9am yet……………………………………
Maybe tomorrow will be better……..
Though I am working on a cake today that should be fun. Writing an essay and cleaning my room – not so fun.
Summer Classes
Right now, I am taking two courses online, Patrol Procedures and Officer Safety. They should be interesting. But unfortunately they are both taught by the same person. And her organization drives me a little crazy. Especially the fact that the reading material she provides has nothing to do with the assignments. Its just stupid.
School
I take classes year round (the summer would be so boring otherwise…..). But I don’t know why, I love this time of year when the new school year is just starting. I don’t know, somehow its just so exciting
It also helps that I just got notification that I got a scholarship ($1000 per semester, renewable for 6 semesters) from Phi Theta Kappa. Not too shabby.
Also nice that I just ordered some stuff to practice my german (it was exciting that I understood enough to navigate Amazon’s German website). It should be here in 8-12 business days. Yay!
Eww
As long as I can remember, summer nights have been plagued by “killer bugs.” These are huge bugs that hiss and fly (poorly) and get stuck in your hair.
Well, it’s midnight, and I’m still awake, so I figured I might as well find out more about the killer bugs, or should I say Polyphylla decemlineata. It is more commonly known as the long haired june bug. More info and pictures can be found here or here.
Psych, Season 4
Yay, Pysch Season 4 starts in a couple weeks. And, if you go to the USA Network website, you can make a trailer for the new season… Here is mine.
Good news, bad news
Orthopedic appointment was bad. He couldn’t see any problems with the articular cartilage on the MRI, so decided to try a cortisone injection. I can’t remember the last time I was in this much pain
But, he said that in a month we could reevaluate for another scope to clear out scar tissue and look directly at the articular cartilage.
But, while in Phoenix, we went to the Apple store and I got my new laptop (15 inch Macbook Pro). And because I’m a student, it came with a new iPod touch and printer.
And, I got officially accepted into my degree program, Yay. Well, it’s pending copies of my official transcripts, but those are on order…
Oh, and sorry for not writing as much recently, there just hasn’t been that much going on around here…
Upcoming Classes
Well its time for summer classes.
I am taking about 8 credits offered online be FEMA. These courses are Basics of Disaster, Animals in Disaster, Special Events Contingency Planning, Household Hazardous Materials, Intro to Incident Command System, Livestock in Disaster, Special Needs Planning Considerations, Coordinating Environmental and Historic Preservation, and Anticipating Hazardous Weather and Community Risk.
Then at the end of the summer, I am taking Patrol Procedures and Officer Survival online through Maricopa.
In the fall, I want to take Crime Scene Processing and Intro to Digital Photography, both through Maricopa. These will be in addition to the metorships through the other program
And then somewhere in there through in my internship.
